Chris Ellison - Director of Secondary Education
Chris serves as the Director of Secondary Education for the Blackdown Education Partnership, working closely with headteachers across the trust’s secondary schools. Previously, he has worked in school leadership positions in West Berkshire.
From April 2021, Chris spent four years as one of His Majesty’s Inspectors, operating across South East England and nationally. He continues to serve as an Ofsted inspector, bringing a wealth of experience from both primary and secondary education.
Chris is deeply committed to inclusion and driven by the belief that every pupil deserves access to an excellent education. His work has included extensive engagement with special schools, pupil referral units, and other specialist settings. He is particularly focused on how schools support their most vulnerable learners, believing that this is the true measure of a school’s success.
Beginning his career as an English teacher and later Head of English in a disadvantaged community, Chris remains passionate about the transformative power of literacy in improving life chances.
