Joseph Bispham - Headteacher, Holyrood Academy
Joseph Bispham is Headteacher at Holyrood Academy and has worked in education since 2012. Joseph began his career through the Teach First programme in North East London, training as a teacher and developing a passion for improving outcomes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Joseph spent a number of years at Forest Gate Community School, where he held a range of leadership roles including Head of Department, Head of Literacy and EAL, and Lead Practitioner. In 2019, he relocated to Exeter and joined West Exe School, serving as Assistant Headteacher and later Deputy Headteacher. During this time, he also spent a year at Isca Academy as a Deputy Headteacher before returning to West Exe. He joined Holyrood Academy as Headteacher in 2026.
Joseph is committed to championing social justice and ensuring that all young people, regardless of their background or circumstances, have access to an excellent education. He believes strongly in the positive impact schools can have on their communities and is passionate about creating environments where students can thrive both academically and personally.
