Proposal to Establish a SEND Unit for Students with SEMH (Internalising) at Court Fields School

Blackdown Education Partnership (BEP) proposes to establish a new SEND Unit for students with SEMH (Internalising) at Court Fields School.

The provision would be created through the redesignation of Block E (the bungalow) on the school site, providing a small, specialist, nurturing environment for up to 8 Key Stage 3 and 4 students, from the Court Fields School local area who have EHCPs with a need area defined as SEMH with Internalising Behaviours.

The base would deliver a flexible, blended model including face-to-face teaching, supported access to mainstream lessons (where appropriate), online learning and the use of AV technology to maintain engagement where needed. The aim is to provide specialist provision on a mainstream site, where appropriate, pupils will have opportunities to access mainstream learning and facilities as part of a bespoke approach.
