Sara Jacobs - Principal, Clyst Vale Community College

Sara is the Principal of Clyst Vale School, having been appointed in January 2024 following a successful period as Deputy Headteacher for Curriculum since joining the school in September 2019. Sara has worked in education for over 30 years and has experience across four secondary schools in Devon. Following a number of teaching and leadership roles throughout her career, Sara became Assistant Headteacher at Uffculme School, where she established the West Country Teaching School Alliance following the school's designation as a Teaching School in 2016. Through this work, she led programmes focused on professional development, teacher training and the support and assessment of Early Career Teachers across the region. 

Throughout her career, Sara has been driven by a belief that education should open doors and create opportunities for all young people, regardless of background. She is committed to fostering a culture of high expectations and inclusivity, ensuring that every student feels valued, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.
